California, Here I Stay
I have been reminded this week of how bitterly cold it gets in other areas of the country. I've lived through a few uber-cold winters, the worst being Alaska with multiple digits below zero before you figure out the windchill. I do not miss that weather AT ALL. Let other people have snowball fights and seasons; I love the sun.

My Great Uncle Passed Away
So I got sad news this morning while I was preparing today's cases for court. My Great Uncle George passed away. His wife Jane passed away two and a half years ago and he has been in declining health for quite a while now. He was my grandmother's older brother and the last member of his generation for my entire family. I am pushing through for the rest of my work day and then going up to Willits to support my mom, who had already gone up to be with George a few days ago. Luckily, I got to visit George just last weekend. A number of relatives made it up and it made George very happy to see a lot of the children in our family. George and Jane always loved being surrounded by children.

Kittens!

I Am A: Chaotic Neutral Elf Fighter
Chaotic Neutral characters are unstable, and frequently insane. They believe in disorder first and foremost, and will thus strive for that disorder in everything they do. This means that they will do whatever seems 'fun' or 'novel' at any given time.
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.
Fighters are the warriors. They use weapons to accomplish their goals. This isn't to say that they aren't intelligent, but that they do, in fact, believe that violence is frequently the answer.

Pepsi Kona 1999
Once upon a time, circa 1998 or 1999, I was living in Philadelphia when Pepsi launched a new drink, a blend of pepsi and coffee, and called it Kona.
Has anyone out there heard of Pepsi Kona? No one I've asked. And there's a good reason for that. The drink was pepsi with a coffee after-taste. In a word: revolting.

Coca-Cola Co. , the world's No. 1 soft drink company, on Wednesday said it will launch a coffee-infused soft drink called Coca-Cola Blak in various markets around the world in 2006.

The Once and Future Blog
Once upon a time, I had a blog. Then I deleted it. New posts coming as soon as I photograph some things.
In the meantime:
I have started reading a bunch of weight-loss/weight-management/weight-acceptance blogs. I have no idea why they fascinate me so. I'm not trying to lose weight, although I am trying to train for a 10K. (I have gone running approximately four times in the last three months in preparation.) The bloggers seem to be interesting, funny people who are struggling with a huge challenge. I suppose it's nice to be reminded of what other people go through every day just living, since otherwise I tend to get wrapped up in frustrating issues at work.
